1918 (Jan) PPC with PASSED BY / CENSOR h/s. Gould 4C139. Mullion B - RNAS Airship Base and s/r. GREAT WESTERN TPO / EDINB. EAST p/m. From 'Oscar Thorp'. The site of RNAS Mullion, a major WW1 airship station and military airfield. It opened in June 1916 and was initially known as the Lizard Airship Station. It was used as a base for coastal patrols to counter the German submarine campaign. It covered a 320 acre site and included two very large airship hangars and mooring blocks, aircraft sheds incl. 6 Bessonneau hangers, a hutted camp and workshops. Was used as a base for non-rigid Coastal Class C2 and C9 airships as well as for fixed-wing aircraft. [Royal Naval Air Service] Ref: 321-037.

1918 unused real photo PPC 'HMS WEYMOUTH, Torpedoed, Durazzo 2nd Oct. 1918'. HMS Weymouth was a Town-class light cruiser. She was damaged by a torpedo from the Austro-Hungarian submarine SM U-31 (or U-28) on 2nd. October 1918: Second Battle of Durazzo. A large portion of her stern was blown off and four crew member were killed. Ref: 320-004.

1919 (9th. Sept) PPC from NORWAY to GB with poor RFHMS m/c. From 'Dowdeswell', Royal Navy Minesweeper with the Northern Barrage Clearance. The North Sea Mine Barrage, also known as the Northern Barrage, was a large minefield laid easterly from the Orkney Islands to Norway. Royal Navy minesweeping efforts involved 421 vessels manned by 600 officers and 15,000 men from 1 April to 30 Nov. 1919. Twelve Lapwing class minesweepers and 18 submarine chasers were available. Strauss declared the barrage cleared on 30 Sept. 1919. Ref: 319-079.
